The most popular type of massage therapy is by far the Swedish massage. If you have never had a massage before, this is the best place to start.
The goal of this massage is to relax the entire body by targeting the superficial muscles (in contrast to the muscles and tissues targeted in a deep tissue massage.) Relaxation of the mind is also an important aspect of the massage.
A Swedish massage is an excellent choice for more reasons than just relaxation:

During your session, you will need to disrobe, but you will be given a sheet or towels to cover yourself for privacy. Our therapists will move the cover only to expose the parts of your body that are being massaged, and you can talk to your therapist if you feel uncomfortable at any time.
Oils and lotions will be used during the massage, so if you have any preference or allergies, please talk to us so you can have the best, relaxing experience possible. These will be massaged into your body using various strokes and techniques to aid in the effectiveness of the massage. Some strokes may be long and gliding in the direction of the heart. Others may be light, rhythmic tapping strokes, or circular pressure. Movement of your joints is also common as we work out all the tension in your body.
We want you to get the most out of your massage, so before and during the massage, feel free to speak with your therapist so that your massage is customized to your specific desires. Some things to tell us include recent injuries, areas that are tight or in pain, and if you prefer firm or light pressure. You can also let us know if you prefer things like music or conversation. Being happy and satisfied with then environment and the massage are both necessary for you to relax, unwind, and reap the most benefits from your massage.
After your massage, it is common to be so relaxed that you feel sleepy, so be cautious of what activities you plan right after your massage. And remember to drink plenty of water afterwards to help your body in flushing out the toxins that were released during the massage.
